2017 Ford Edge

The Edge is a mid-size crossover SUV produced by Ford Motor Company. This model was originally launched in 2006, as 2007 year model. This excellent crossover, which is characterized both by great look and excellent performances, was redesigned last year. The second-generation model came with many improvements and nowadays offers even more that firs-generation model.
The 2017 Ford Edge will come in third year of production, so bigger changes are not expected. The base characteristics, both in visual and mechanical aspect, will remain unchanged. However, it is rumored that hybrid version will come with 2017 Edge, but since there is more than a year until its release, it is still early to speculate.

2017 Ford Edge specs

As we already mentioned, 2017 Ford Edge will come with most of the characteristics same as for the model that came last year. It will ride on the company’s new CD4 platform, which is used for models like Ford Fusion, Lincoln MKZ and it will be used for several other future models of the company. This new platform offers plenty of advantages, compared to previous model.

New model is lighter, has longer wheelbase, offers more space inside etc. When it is about outside look, 2017 Edge will come without changes. It will come adapted to the company’s new design language.

We will see a new front fascia, which will feature new grille and headlights, same as on some new models like Taurus or Explorer. As you probably know, 2017 Ford Edge will be available not only in North America, but also in Europe and some other parts of the world. This model is a part of company’s new “One Ford” ideology, which prefers global instead of specific market-oriented models.

2017 Ford Edge engine

Just like 2015 and 2016 models, 2017 Ford Edge will be offered with three engines. The base model will be powered by 2.0 liter I-4 EcoBoost engine with 245 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque. Optional engine will be a 3.5 liter Duramax V6, which is good for 280 hp and 250 lb-ft of max torque.

Finally, there is a 2.7 liter V6 EcoBoost engine, which will be offered in Sport models, which has max output of 310 horses and 350 lb-ft of max torque. As we already mentioned, there are rumors that 2017 Edge will be offered in a hybrid variant too, but so far, there is no official confirmation.

2017 Ford Edge release date and price

The 2017 Ford Edge is expected to come late next year. Price will probably remain unchanged, which means in a range between 28.000 and 38.000 dollars.
