2017 BMW X5

The X5 is definitely one of the best-known and most popular crossovers, when it is about luxury cars. It is a mid-size luxury crossover, which originally came in 1999. It was the company’s first crossover ever made. It is also important to mention that this model, alongside with Lexus RX300, was the first crossover that adopted new lightweight unibody platform, instead of conventional body-on-frame structure.
Even nowadays this model is known for constant bringing of novelties. So far, we saw three generations of it. Current model was introduced in 2013, and next year it will be in its fourth year of production, so we should expect some important changes for 2017 BMW X5.

2017 BMW X5 changes

If we consider usual life-span of the most of the models that are made by Bavarian giant, it is easy to conclude that 2017 BMW X5 will be somewhere in the middle of its cycle. This means that we can expect some changes, which will come in order to keep this model fresh and competitive.
As you probably know, 2016 year model was presented recently at the Shanghai Motor Show. It came with several novelties, mostly mechanical. We saw new plug-in hybrid variant, which is consisted of 2.0 liter petrol engine and electric motor, with total output of 309 hp and 339 lb-ft of torque.
Beside this model, we also expect to see a sport-oriented M package released soon. All of these make some directions to us what to expect from 2017 BMW X5. Since we mechanical updates are reserved for 2016 year model, 2017 X5 will probably come mostly with aesthetical changes and also with some updates and improvements, when it is about inside the cabin.
