2017 Mazda CX-7

When you have models like CX-3CX-5 and CX-9 in your lineup, it is clear that something is missing. Japanese manufacturer already had a model called CX-7 in its lineup. It was launched in 2006. It was produced until 2012. As some kind of a successor, model called CX-5 appeared, although it was a little bit smaller.

After some time of brake, company now plans to reintroduce this model, which will complete company’s range of crossovers. According to the latest reports, new model is expected in near future. It was expected to come as 2016 year model, but now it looks more likely that it will come as 2017 Mazda CX-7.
2017 Mazda CX-7 specs
Since this model is not in production for some time, we can say that 2017 Mazda CX-7 will come as all-new model, especially if we consider that new one will come with a little bit different characteristics. The main problem with the original was that it didn’t belong to any class of crossovers exactly.
It was somewhere between compact and mid-size crossovers, and it wasn’t competitive enough in any class. New CX-7 will come improved in every aspect. Compare to original, it will come a little bit larger, it will be closer to mid-size crossover. It will come with new platform, which will provide enough room for three rows of seats.
According to several reports, we will see both five- and seven-seat configuration in offer. New model will come in company’s new “KODO – Soul of Motion” design language and new SkyActive technologies. Many design solutions will be borrowed from  CX-5 and CX-7 models.
2017 Mazda CX-7 engine
When it is about engines, instead of so-called downsizing, Mazda prefers “rightsizing”, so we will see engines that are a little big larger, compared to competition. However, results in fuel economy won’t be lower for sure. The 2017 Mazda CX-7 will come with company’s new SkyActive engines. Base model will be powered by 2.0 liter engine with 155 horses.
The more powerful variant will use a 2.5 liter engine, which is good enough for 184 horsepower. The new Mazda CX-7 will be also available in diesel variant. This model will use 2.2 liter turbodiesel engine with 173 hp. All engines will be available with either 6-speed automatic or 6-speed manual transmission.
2017 Mazda CX-7 release date

The exact date of launch is still unknown but we expect that 2017 Mazda CX-7 will come in a year or two. When it is about price, base model will cost somewhere between 45.000 and 50.000 dollars, according to rumors.
