The MDX is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV produced by Honda’s
luxury division Acura. It was originally launched in 2000 as 2001 year model.
Curing these 15 years, we saw three generations of it. Current model was
launched in May 2013 and it is planned to be refreshed next year. Although it
came with significant improvements, compared to second-generation model and
much better in most of the aspects, compared to competition, company already
prepares some modifications. The 2017 Acura MDX will come with so-called
mid-cycle refresh, which will include several changes in many aspects.
2017 Acura MDX specs
The 2017 Acura MDX will come refreshed. Although this crossover is
considered as almost an excellent car in all aspects, company wants to set the
bar even higher. New model will come with even some additional improvements.
Most of these changes will be visual nature, while base characteristics will
remain the same. The 2017 MDX will come with several visual updates. Most of
the changes will naturally come at the front end.
We will see a revisited front
fascia, with new grille and headlights, but that won’t be the only visual
change. Although it will keep the same basic shape, new model will come with
sharper edges and more aerodynamic overall look. It will come with more
aggressive stance, which will make it more attractive to potential customers.
When it is about interior, 2017 MDX will feature the same cabin with three rows
of seats and some of the changes that are expected are new upholstery, maybe a
slightly revisited dashboard and also an updated hi-tech features.
Changes under the hood are not expected. The 2017 Acura MDX will
come with the same 3.5 liter V6 VTEC unit, which has maximum output of 290
horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque. This engine is paired with 9-speed
automatic transmission. When it is about fuel consumption, 2017 MDX is good for
23 mpg in a combined drive.
2017 Acura MDX release date and price
The 2017 Acura MDX is expected to come late next year. Price is
expected to remain pretty much unchanged, which means that base model will go
around 42.000 dollars.
