2017 Bentley Bentayga

Luxury brand Bentley is preparing their first crossover. Although concept for new SUV called Bentayga was presented before, it hasn’t reached dealerships yet. However, it is about to change with 2017 Bentley Bentayga. Frankfurt car show could host premiere of the vehicle which could be produced in factories, and according to spy shots and prototype image, there are some similarities with some models. However, after its first appearance in 2012, this luxurious crossover is now being in the last phase of development and these pics could be close to final version of the 2017 Bentayga.

Engine range wasn’t confirmed by Bentley. However, there are some information telling that luxury crossover could borrow drivetrain from Continental GT model. That could be V8 or W12 unit, which could get hybrid version. Spokesman of the company announced it, but progress in this area is absolutely unknown yet. 

Experts say that V8 could fit better to electric motor. If that’s true, 2017 Bentley Bentayga could go 30 miles by taking power from batteries only. However, new vehicle is going to cause a lot of interest, even if it use diesel variant. If this happen, we could see Audi’s drivetrain under the hood of Bentayga. It is 4.2-l twin-turbo V8 powerplant which is capable to deliver high values of torque and power.

According to spy shots, final version of 2017 Bentley Bentayga is going to be different than the concept we saw at Geneva auto show in 2012.  We have heard that new crossover could share platform with upcoming Audi Q7. This could be famous MLB concept developed by VW, which is used by another competitor, Porsche Cayenne. Nevertheless, be ready for shocking info – Lamborghini is working on their SUV segment, which is also use same platform. However, it is likely that Bentayga is going to be the largest of all.

Company is targeting 200 mph for its crossover, which could be the statement of its ambitions and directions of development. The 2017 Bentley Bentayga value will be in par with Continental GT vehicle, around $210,000. Luxury SUV rivals top cars in this segment, Range Rover Sport SVR, Audi SQ7 and Mercedes-Benz GL63 AMG.
