When Aspen came, it was the first SUV model with Chrysler badge. It was officially unveiled at the 2005 New York Auto Show, while serial production started one year later. This model was declared as luxury SUV. When it is about SUV’s characteristics, it was heavily based on the Dodge Durango. It was some kind of a luxury version of this model. It was based on the second-generation Durango and it was produced in next several years. According to the latest reports, company has in plans to bring back this model. It is expected that new model will come in a year or two, most likely as 2017 Chrysler Aspen.

According to the several reports that circulate on the internet, company will bring back this luxury SUV. The 2017 Chrysler Aspen will come as all-new model. At this point, it is hard to predict will new model come once again based on Durango, or it will be more unique model. 

In any case, it is for sure that new model will used many design solutions from Dodge’s full-size SUV. Many of technological achievements from Chrysler’s Jeep division will be also used. When it is about place in the company’s line up, 2017 Chrysler Aspen will stand above Grand Cherokee. When it is about exterior look, it is still hard to speculate. It will surely come with muscular and aggressive stance, but exact details are still unknown. Same thing is about interior. We expect stylish design, with plenty of luxury features. The 2017 Aspen will feature three rows of seats.

The 2017 Chrysler Aspen will come with new engines. Unlike previous model which was powered by large V8, new one will come with more efficient V6 variants. According to some reports, base model will be powered with 3.2 liter engine, which has max output of 271 horsepower. The 2017 Aspen will be also available with bigger 3.6 liter engine, which will provide and output of around 300 horsepower.

The 2017 Chrysler Aspen is expected to come in a year or two, but more precise date is still unknown. When it is about competition, possible rivals could be models like Honda Pilot, Chevrolet Traverse or Nissan Pathfinder.
