The Countryman is a subcompact crossover produced by Mini. It was
originally launched in 2010, after few concepts that were shown some years
before. It is the first vehicle of this kind produced by BMW under the Mini
Brand. As you probably know, 2015 year model comes with some big updates.
However, this improved model won’t last for long because next-generation model
is already in an advanced phase of development. Testing model has been spied on
the streets recently. It is expected that new model will come as 2017 Mini
Countryman. It will come with plenty of changes such as new platform, new look,
larger cabin etc.
2017 Mini Countryman redesign
Expect to see 2017 Mini
Countryman completely redesigned. It will come with plenty of significant
changes and probably the biggest one is new platform. New model will ride on
the UKL platform, same that is used for Mini Hardtop and newest BMX X1 Series. With new chassis, bigger dimensions are
expected. New model will come slightly larger, with longer wheelbase, which
will provide more space inside.
With the more spacious cabin, 2017 Countryman
will solve its main deficiency, compared to competition. When it is about
outside look, new model still wears a complete camouflage, so it is hard to say
something more. However, it is easy to see that new model will have slightly
different basic contours.
2017 Mini Countryman engine
When it is about engines, there are no official details available
yet. However, it is pretty much for sure that 2017 Mini Countryman will use new
1.5 liter three-cylinder engine. When it is about performance variant such as
Countryman S and John Cooper Works, we will see the same 2.0 liter Turbocharged
engine. However, this engine could come with some additional horsepower. Just
like in the current model, those engines will be paired with either 6-speed
manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.
2017 Mini Countryman release date
The exact date of 2017 Mini Countryman is unknown. For now, it is
known only that it will come somewhere next year as 2017 year model.
