Nissan’s luxury brand, Infiniti, is
specialized for special models of the vehicles. All their models are somehow
upgraded versions of their mother-company products. So it is with compact
crossover segment. It is sometimes found as hatchback, but it is small SUV,
very economical and functional. Concept of the 2017 Infiniti QX30 was presented
in Frankfurt, back in 2013, and since then, both Q30 and QX30 crossovers are
built upon that. Other one is bigger, and it is main difference between two
models made in same factory. Well, other is price, since for the QX variant,
all buyers should afford more money.
2017 Infiniti QX30
redesign
The 2017 Infiniti QX30 is made for younger
population and drivers that love comfort and hi-tech features. Sleek and
elegant lines, rich interior, extreme safety are highlights of the crossover.
Rear end will be revisited, so expect some new stuff here, while the crossover
gets 21-inch wheels. These are somehow big for compact vehicle, but it would be
interesting to see them on 2017 QX30.
Sharp headlights are new on the front,
while bumpers, hood and grille should be carried over from last model. Interior
could be similar, with brown and blue combination of colors. Luxury leather
seats, new dashboard and armrests will be revisited. Dual display layout is
being prepared. Expect many new features, and most of the controls will be on
the wheel.
2017 Infiniti QX30
powertrain
Engine of the current model of QX30 could
be used for new model. It is 2.0-l I-4 unit, which is also being used by some
Mercedes-Benz vehicles. However, this powertrain is mated to a 7-speed gearbox,
which could be automatic or manual. Front-wheel drive system is used by 2017
Infiniti QX30, while AWD is not sure yet. One thing is sure, compact crossover
is getting only one drivetrain, but we have to wait to see if engineers are
going to develop some other unit instead of 2.0-l four-cylinder motor.
2017 Infiniti QX30
price
Starting price of $30,000 is not so
popular for compact SUV, but 2017 Infiniti QX30 is luxurious vehicle, packed
with a lot of hi-tech equipment. However, expect few trim levels and price
closer to $40,000 for higher-end models.
